IDEAL FOR

Paddlers looking for adventures large & small on an extremely stiff iSUP. Those wanting a board that is capable of touring & overnight trips one weekend and a SUP racing event the next but don't have the room for a large fibreglass board.

Sorrento Highlights

An award-winning design that has been Independently tested as one of the most rigid paddleboards on the market. The X-woven material combines 3K carbon stringers and rails that are now welded for ultimate strength & durability. Get all this category-leading performance with a board that still weighs just 10 Kg.

When the 2021 Sorrento won the "Best SUP" award against the biggest SUP brands in the world, we were already deep into the redesign process. We had bold plans to take what we knew was a great board and make it an industry benchmark. We were in the early stages of prototyping our completely new rail construction.

Designed for those wanting to paddle further. The Sorrento paddles easily in a straight line while remaining stable enough for all but total beginner paddlers and has enough anchor points for weekend camping tips. This sweet spot of speed and stability makes it the perfect board for riders who want to go far, fast, on their morning paddle, leading a local SUP event or weekend camping adventure.

Crafted from our 5.9" thick X-woven & fused material which is then enhanced by stacked carbon stringers & carbon/ welded rails. The rails are made by using heat+pressure welding to mechanically fuse the inner rail with a 25mm wide strip. Then a 50mm 3K carbon rail is bonded into the rail for added stiffness and protection before the outer rail is finally applied.

Dimensions 12'6 x 30' x 5.9'
Volume 330 litres
Deck Construction X-woven PVC structure reinforced with Carbon/ PVC stringers

From 2023, the Sorrento board no longer comes with a pump or paddle by default, but rather gives you the choice to bundle them in if wanted. This keep our prices sharp and unwanted products (waste) down.

Out of the box, the Sorrento includes:

  • Heavy duty bag-pack made from 1680D Ballistic Nylon
  • 9" Touring ClickFin from Air 7
  • Valve tool & repair kit
  • Safety Leash

4 YEAR TOTAL CARE WARRANTY

We will repair or replace your board, new-for-old, if there are any manufacturing issues within the first four years, including loose seams, faulty valves, or traction pad delamination.

WELDED 3K CARBON RAILS

Exclusive to Honu, this complex construction uses heat+pressure welding to fuse the inner rail with a 25mm strip. Then a 50mm 3K carbon rail is bonded under the outer rail layer for ultimate stiffness & durability.

X-WOVEN & FUSED DROP STITCH

Multiple layers of woven drop stitch are fused during the manufacturing process, where the polyester threads running through the vinyl are crisscrossed, similar to carbon fibre, making it light & stiff.

3K CARBON STRINGERS

The Carbon II construction uses a 50mm 3K carbon strip under a 150mm viny panel top and bottom. This stacked construction improves the board's stiffness while keeping the design sleek and minimal.

UNIVERSAL FIN SYSTEM

A universal fin system allows the paddler to try different fins to fine-tune the board's performance across various conditions. It also allows for quick replacement should the need arise.

TEXTURED DIAMOND TRACTION

Combining the tactile feel of a diamond grove with the grip of an alligator pattern provides the paddler with a confidence-inspiring platform that feels soft yet solid underfoot.

Wonderful board

Dont want to duplicate what has been said by others in the past. Realy well presented board, beautifly rigid and pefroms realy well on water. Looking foward to getting it out for some longer paddles as a great additon to the quiver.

Niiice

The Sorrento is a light weight, high quality touring board that paddles very well and has good stability. Nice touches like the straps front and back, kick pad and mooring points. This board paddles almost as well as my previous Jimmy Lewis Sidewinder (carbon) at 14'x27" - and that is impressive. It also is a better design than my previous Red Paddle Sports 11'x30" as the Sorrento has no battens and is even more rigid.

Nice touring board

I've had the Sorrento out for a couple short paddling sessions since I got it. One of the main reasons I bought it was for its light weight. It is extremely light, probably 15 pounds lighter than my old rigid board. It tracks pretty straight and is stable. I track my outings with the SportTracker app to record how fast and far I go, and to my surprise I found this board slightly faster than my rigid board. Basically, it checks all the boxes for me.

I think I'll be buying an electric pump for next season. Pumping this board past 17 psi with the included pump is a harder workout than paddling it!

If you're serious about an inflatable SUP I don't think you'll find a better one than this anywhere near this price.

Wife is very happy!

I bought Honu Sorrento for my wife – she is very very happy with it. The board is really well made, and honesty in reality it looks far better than on the photos – it is really beautiful. We've tested the board thoroughly on a 7-days 130km sup-trip along beautiful Polish river Brda. The board did great – it gives possibility to put on reasonable amount of gear, but at the same time it is light and very fast. I am convinced that it is the best board I could have bought for my wife!

The only thing that could be improved in future versions are the handles which could be a bit softer – currently carrying the board for longer while may be uncomfortable.

From nice small things we found the valve on the nose to be very convenient – it makes folding the board so much easier.

I also want to thank the Honu Team and Mark with whom I exchanged a number of emails, for giving me opportunity to realize my crazy idea to purchase the board from US (as the Sea Turtle color was not available in UK). Thank you very much guys!

Having fun

I've had my Sorrento for a few months now, and have had the opportunity to explore ocean, mountain and river. It's sturdy, I find it very stable, it tracks great, and I look forward to doing some multi day trips soon with all the space for gear. It's also classic style and very well made.
