My Honu Byron meets all my expectations. It’s light, super easy to manoeuvre and such beautiful quality. I had done a lot of research before choosing to buy from Honu. I’m delighted with the board, pump and paddle and Honu’s customer service, which ensured I got the board before Christmas. Thank you Mark!
Seems nice but doesn’t come with paddle or pump so can’t use it yet and when purchasing there is no add ons for pump and paddle
I’ve had my Byron 10.6 nearly 2 months, bought primarily for taking my dog for paddles. I have 2 other sups - both hard boards ( one for surf and one for flatwater) so didn’t really plan on using the Byron a hell of a lot to be honest.
So here we are almost 2 months in and my Garmin is telling me I’ve paddled the Honu 32 times !!! And just noticed my other 2 sups have some cobwebs on them !!!
Why is this so ? It’s simply because the Byron is ridiculously light and as such easy to load and carry (especially when I have a dog in the other hand), it paddles and glides as well as, if not better than any hard boards I’ve owned (I’ve owned a LOT of sups) and it is quite simply so so much fun to paddle, and that’s why we all sup right !?
As I’ve said I’ve owned many sups so I can be quite picky and critical of boards and what they claim they are, and can be - and I did try to fault this board at first. The only thing I was able to fault was the pretty average fin that came with the board. I replaced it with a nice 9” fibreglass longboard fin I had laying around and the difference immediately noticeable - no flex and as such the board paddled much better and handled much better on the odd tiny wave. Because I paddle mostly in an area that can get very shallow my fin did scrape the sandy bottom so I replaced my glass fin with a fcs 2 connect 9” fin (hard plastic click in and only about $75 new) I am of the opinion that this very basic fcs longboard fin is the perfect fin for most people on this board.
Overall I am blown away with this Honu board and the only thing better than the board is the outstanding service. Love my Byron and can’t wait to add another Honu to the quiver asap.
Great service from honu . Arrived on time unfortunately I am recovering from knee replacement but couldn’t resist the Black Friday sale! Hopefully will be out on it soon! This is my second Byron but first electric pump so looking forward to using that!
Absolutely love this board !! The colour is gorgeous and I’m impressed with the quality of the board. I went over budget for my first board bc after doing so much research I was drawn to the Honu boards and honestly it did not disappoint!! Already taken it out a couple of times and it’s made me so excited for summer. I do wish though that there were more instructions on the website on inflating the board and using the pump bc I didn’t realise that the meter stayed steady at 0-5 until it got to 15 psi. I thought the pump was broken 😅 other than that I’m super happy w everything else :))
A great product
1st time I tried paddleboarding was a rental ISUP that was way too big for my size, but a friend and I still decided to buy our own. I completed a lot of research on the best boards for our size and weight. It kept coming back to Honu. We both purchased the Honu Byron Paddleboard, were able to stand our 1st time out and been having a blast since. Very happy with the boards and to Mark, who has been very responsive to any and all questions we have had. Thank you Honu!
I’ve used my new SUP several times and find it to be very comfortable to paddle, it glides well, and is very stiff. I love that I can load it up on top of my car by my self. Very light!
I am a first time paddle boarder, find the board stable enough for me, checked out the infos provided on how to etc. I have been going to a local lake during perfect weather conditions only being a beginner and have really enjoyed it. Paddling is easy and the board pretty well held its course even with a bit of wind or rather was easily corrected. The pump made inflating and deflating a breeze, but it is be a bit noisy when working harder. The paddle works well for me, I am tall and since it comes with extension it worked perfectly for my hight. I would definitely recommend it all. I also really like the warranty, which played a big part in my decision making when making the purchase.
Bought this to keep in our camper van. It arrived quickly, in perfect condition, and in time for a long holiday weekend of camping, mountain biking, and cliff jumping. Only used the once so far but seems super high quality, was easy to inflate/deflate, and handled beautifully on calm lake - very lightweight but stable. We were the envy of the group of friends. The only downside was the board was so popular I didn’t get to use it much myself as everyone else had such a great time. I would definitely buy again and highly recommend (and in fact strongly suggested that everyone get their own before our next trip!) Thanks to the team at Honu!

The Honu Byron exceeded expectations as an all round iSUP. Honu have definitely thought about their design of this board and how it is going to perform for the everyday paddler. The 4.7″ design gives you added stability, whilst the front and rear handles are a welcome addition.
