Paddlers looking for adventures large & small on an extremely stiff iSUP. Those wanting a board that is capable of touring & overnight trips one weekend and a SUP racing event the next but don't have the room for a large fibreglass board.

Sorrento Highlights

An award-winning design that has been Independently tested as one of the most rigid paddleboards on the market. The X-woven material combines 3K carbon stringers and rails that are now welded for ultimate strength & durability. Get all this category-leading performance with a board that still weighs just 10 Kg.

When the 2021 Sorrento won the "Best SUP" award against the biggest SUP brands in the world, we were already deep into the redesign process. We had bold plans to take what we knew was a great board and make it an industry benchmark. We were in the early stages of prototyping our completely new rail construction.

Designed for those wanting to paddle further. The Sorrento paddles easily in a straight line while remaining stable enough for all but total beginner paddlers and has enough anchor points for weekend camping tips. This sweet spot of speed and stability makes it the perfect board for riders who want to go far, fast, on their morning paddle, leading a local SUP event or weekend camping adventure.

Crafted from our 5.9" thick X-woven & fused material which is then enhanced by stacked carbon stringers & carbon/ welded rails. The rails are made by using heat+pressure welding to mechanically fuse the inner rail with a 25mm wide strip. Then a 50mm 3K carbon rail is bonded into the rail for added stiffness and protection before the outer rail is finally applied.

4 YEAR TOTAL CARE WARRANTY

We will repair or replace your board, new-for-old, if there are any manufacturing issues within the first four years, including loose seams, faulty valves, or traction pad delamination.

WELDED 3K CARBON RAILS

Exclusive to Honu, this complex construction uses heat+pressure welding to fuse the inner rail with a 25mm strip. Then a 50mm 3K carbon rail is bonded under the outer rail layer for ultimate stiffness & durability.

X-WOVEN & FUSED DROP STITCH

Multiple layers of woven drop stitch are fused during the manufacturing process, where the polyester threads running through the vinyl are crisscrossed, similar to carbon fibre, making it light & stiff.

3K CARBON STRINGERS

The Carbon II construction uses a 50mm 3K carbon strip under a 150mm viny panel top and bottom. This stacked construction improves the board's stiffness while keeping the design sleek and minimal.

UNIVERSAL FIN SYSTEM

A universal fin system allows the paddler to try different fins to fine-tune the board's performance across various conditions. It also allows for quick replacement should the need arise.

TEXTURED DIAMOND TRACTION

Combining the tactile feel of a diamond grove with the grip of an alligator pattern provides the paddler with a confidence-inspiring platform that feels soft yet solid underfoot.

Last year the 2021 Honu Sorrento was a test winning board in our Touring board. But that didn’t stop Honu from working hard on their 2022 board to make it even better. With its new rail construction the 2022 Honu Sorrento is, for its weight, the stiffest board we have ever tested!

Sorrento

We can’t wait to get out on the water. So light and sturdy. We’ll be taking it to Costa Rica for its first rides in April. This is our 2nd inflatable SUP. The Sorrento is longer and narrower than our other board. Seems like it will glide well. The board has me ready for the next season as we have mid winter conditions. Might have to buy a wet suit so I can get on it sooner.

Great Touring

I love the fit and finish of the Sorrento the bag travels and packs very smartly. On the water especially with less chop and wind, the Sorrento is a rocket. I found the length and the flatness of the board to work against it when you are trying to take The board into the ocean I paired my board with Honos, three piece carbon panel, and that is a game changer. All in a wall you cannot find a lighter stiffer inflatable board, as well as a lighter faster three-piece paddle.

Perfect board

I have been waiting and waiting for this board to restock! Huge upgrade from my previous all-around board. The Sorrento is really fast but still very stable. I love how much distance I can cover. I also really appreciate the simplicity of the board but there are still plenty of tie downs for gear.

Best decision in a long time…

I had no idea inflatable SUP were an option until i tried a friend’s Gili tourer two weeks ago. Hooked. A day of deep research and then my Sorrento arrived within 4 days - ordered on Sun, on the water in regional SA on Thu arvo. I’m new to SUPs, but have been paddling and rowing before, and wanted a board I could grow into. What a first impression! Fast, responsive, fun. And it looks amazing. I could feel every little improvement in stroke technique. I fell in twice, but it took over 2 km’s of flat water training and experimenting before… I love it. Great for a core strength workout, I could just keep up with my partner’s sea kayak [she was taking it easy]. Couldn’t stop grinning. And fun to leisure cruise too. Big tip: Get the e-pump! Set to 18psi and 9min later it’s all done, pump turns itself off. The quality of the whole package is outstanding, couldn’t be happier - hmmm may be if I splurged on the premium paddle as well… but the Element is amazing for me for now. Have been out 5 times now and the board is only getting better. Great job Honu!

Ideal

The board is great, very high quality. Can get some speed. A bit trickier on turns but that also could be down to me. No problem with my 18kg dog on the front as well.
