IDEAL FOR

Paddlers looking for adventures large & small on an extremely stiff iSUP. Those wanting a board that is capable of touring & overnight trips one weekend and a SUP racing event the next but don't have the room for a large fibreglass board.

Sorrento Highlights

An award-winning design that has been Independently tested as one of the most rigid paddleboards on the market. The X-woven material combines 3K carbon stringers and rails that are now welded for ultimate strength & durability. Get all this category-leading performance with a board that still weighs just 10 Kg.

When the 2021 Sorrento won the "Best SUP" award against the biggest SUP brands in the world, we were already deep into the redesign process. We had bold plans to take what we knew was a great board and make it an industry benchmark. We were in the early stages of prototyping our completely new rail construction.

Designed for those wanting to paddle further. The Sorrento paddles easily in a straight line while remaining stable enough for all but total beginner paddlers and has enough anchor points for weekend camping tips. This sweet spot of speed and stability makes it the perfect board for riders who want to go far, fast, on their morning paddle, leading a local SUP event or weekend camping adventure.

Crafted from our 5.9" thick X-woven & fused material which is then enhanced by stacked carbon stringers & carbon/ welded rails. The rails are made by using heat+pressure welding to mechanically fuse the inner rail with a 25mm wide strip. Then a 50mm 3K carbon rail is bonded into the rail for added stiffness and protection before the outer rail is finally applied.

4 YEAR TOTAL CARE WARRANTY

We will repair or replace your board, new-for-old, if there are any manufacturing issues within the first four years, including loose seams, faulty valves, or traction pad delamination.

WELDED 3K CARBON RAILS

Exclusive to Honu, this complex construction uses heat+pressure welding to fuse the inner rail with a 25mm strip. Then a 50mm 3K carbon rail is bonded under the outer rail layer for ultimate stiffness & durability.

X-WOVEN & FUSED DROP STITCH

Multiple layers of woven drop stitch are fused during the manufacturing process, where the polyester threads running through the vinyl are crisscrossed, similar to carbon fibre, making it light & stiff.

3K CARBON STRINGERS

The Carbon II construction uses a 50mm 3K carbon strip under a 150mm viny panel top and bottom. This stacked construction improves the board's stiffness while keeping the design sleek and minimal.

UNIVERSAL FIN SYSTEM

A universal fin system allows the paddler to try different fins to fine-tune the board's performance across various conditions. It also allows for quick replacement should the need arise.

TEXTURED DIAMOND TRACTION

Combining the tactile feel of a diamond grove with the grip of an alligator pattern provides the paddler with a confidence-inspiring platform that feels soft yet solid underfoot.

“The Honu Sorrento is a performance fitness and touring iSUP. The lightweight and rigid construction combined with a sleek shape make it incredibly fast and fun on the water.”

Last year the 2021 Honu Sorrento was a test winning board in our Touring board. But that didn’t stop Honu from working hard on their 2022 board to make it even better. With its new rail construction the 2022 Honu Sorrento is, for its weight, the stiffest board we have ever tested!

Loving it!

I've only been paddleboarding a few times over the past 10 years and not for more than an hour each time. That said, I do a lot of coastal kayaking and paddle mostly performance kayaks. I knew this board would be a bit advanced for me and I was prepared for a steep learning curve, but I knew I wouldn't be happy with a more recreational board for very long.

What a pleasant surprise! I took it for a quick spin last night after work and was able to stand up within a few minutes and got up some speed even. The winds were very light and the water very flat, so I'm sure that ideal conditions had something to do with it, but the board felt pretty good after just a few minutes.

The board, bag, and optional electric pump all seem to be excellent build quality. Shipping was fast, had the board in Florida in just a few days. I absolutely LOVE how light the board is, it's easy to carry and I can even reach the center handle (T-Rex arms, I can't reach on most boards).

Knowing very little about SUPs but quite a bit about kayaks, I was concerned about buying an inflatable. Friends that have paddled them have hated them and complained about "chatter" and other issue. I bought this board because all the reviews I ready (by actual paddleboard magazines and paddlers) raved about how it feels like a ridgid board. I honestly could not tell the difference and my partner (who does paddleboard) is absolutely in love with it.

Fast, Light and Good Looking

I love this board. I'm quite new to paddle boarding but quickly upgraded to this board once I knew I was going to stick with it. It's stable and fast compared to my prior NRS board. It's great how light it is for its size, it's a breeze to carry down to the water. I've only used this in open water so I can't speak to how maneuverable it is. I've not had a problem pointing it to where I want to go with the exception of a very windy day (I won't try that again). To top it all off this board is gorgeous. I love the aesthetic of all Honu products.

Super cute board

Only didn’t get 5 stars because the wrong screw plate was sent. I did get a quick response from Mark though, and the right one arrived in a little over a week.

As for the board, I decided to upgrade from my 10’6, 33” Body Glove Raptor because I wanted to be able to cover more lake in the same amount of time. I’ve taken it out a couple times so far and it seems a little faster but not by much. Stability is good. I was worried with this being a thinner, longer board that I wouldn’t be able to balance on it well. But just after a few seconds, I got use to it and was off! It tracks pretty well too. But most of all, and the main reason that tipped my decision towards getting this board after looking at countless other boards and reading tons of reviews , was that I thought this board was super cute! I’ve already gotten compliments on how cute it is! Overall, I’m happy with my purchase! Next upgrade, is a paddle to go with it!

Excellent iSUP & fun to paddle :)

I have been paddling a Honu Sorrento for almost two years. It's quick, stable, rigid, easy to transport, light to carry in its bag or on my roof racks and it even goes surprisingly well catching waist high waves/runners. If you're looking for a versatile iSUP that's excellent value, I'd recommend checking out the Sorrento.
