Genesis Construction

The Byron is the Swiss army knife of inflatable paddle boards designed to be a true all-rounder. Want to head out for a flatwater cruise with your dog or kids?  Grab the Byron. This 4.7" thick inflatable SUP keeps its riders connected to the water and better able to respond to swirls and ripples making it more stable than a standard 6" board. This connection provides the comfort and ultimate confidence to push boundaries at any skill level and ultimately improve your paddling experience. The triple-bonded rails allow the board to be inflated to 20 PSI, which is easily achieved with the premium GRI pump that comes as a standard inclusion. The combination of high pressure, reinforced rails, and 4.7" thickness produces a stable iSUP with hardboard-like performance. But unlike a hardboard, it can be packed away in a small car or closet.

The Byron adopts our industry-leading X-Woven & Fused drop-stitch material found throughout the Honu range. This innovative material produces a board that is around 2Kg (4.4 lbs) lighter than comparable high-performance boards, making it easy to transport and move around. Riders will also love the simple tail bungee designed to hold your paddle while you're off the board having a swim... Sometimes it's the little things.

2021 Byron is a great value

I have been surfing for 60 years and SUP flatwater for 20. Have done citizen races in flatwater on the Colorado River and coastal bays. After talking with Mark about it's usability in Baja ocean conditions, he gave a realistic assessment of the capabilities of the Byron. I got the Byron mainly for my wife as we both wanted to get away from the heavier SUPs that I have acquired over the years. Yesterday, we took it out to the SD bay and we were both blown away by it's stability and performance. I bought the Bondi for surfing a small break in mid Baja and used it when we toured together. I had to power up to keep up with her! Am now thinking maybe I need another Byron so I don't get beat on the bay. Neither of us fell though it had been a while since we had been on the water due to a recent shoulder replacement I had. Highly recommended !

Impressed with product and customer service

I'm an avid supper. Very happy with my hard boards. But then I moved to a condo without a garage and needed the more convenient storage solution of an inflatable. I did my research and chose the 10'6"

Byron for the clean, minimalist design, closer to the water experience (smaller height), and company reputation and reviews. This board does not disappoint! Notably lighter than most isups, with a solid/firm feel on the water. It's great to have around to offer to friends who have never supped due to its stability.

Lastly, I have interacted with customer service several times and each experience was handled quickly, efficiently, and to my satisfaction. Would highly recommend this product and company.

Very pleased. Lightweight, well built, responsive.

Ordered this about a week ago and received it within 3 business days. I am an experienced SUPer (mostly flatwater); 5'7, about 140# and this board felt perfect for me inflated to about 16psi. It can handle more air so a larger person could get even more floatation by going to the max 20 psi. It was responsive and very easy to inflate and handle. I purchased this to carry into backcountry lakes and took it on its maiden voyage already. It fit nicely into a large backpacking pack (with all its accessories) with room to spare, although it definitely maxed out the bag's height. (I chose not to hike with the bag it came in, as that had some extra weight in the form of wheels, etc., but that bag will probably be useful for travel.) Can't wait to put in more time on this board.

Couldn't ask for better in a iSUP

I went looking for an iSUP to meet my river paddling needs when I moved to Oregon. Coming from ocean surfing and paddling, I knew that I wanted something that would exceed the "standard" iSUP on the market: cheap, heavy, and thick. I was willing to spend a little more $ for the quality, but Red Paddle Co's price point was just beyond me. Specifically, I wanted a board in the 10' range at 5" thick (4.7" to be precise). There's only a small handful of companies that make their iSUPs thinner than the typical 6", including Honu, Red Paddle Co, and a couple others.

If you're not already convinced that 5" thick is way better than 6", just think about it this way: these boards are extremely stable when constructed with quality in mind, they take less time to inflate, weigh less, take up less space/volume, lead to a more enjoyable paddling experience because you're closer to the water, and are ultimately faster and more maneuverable.

So far, the Byron 10'6" is meeting all of my expectations. I'm bummed that there's no side fin boxes to install three smaller fins if desired, but I know that these boards are designed more with the open water in mind (oceans and lakes), where a large center fin is more than enough.

Customer service-wise: Mark and the team were incredibly kind and helpful. There was some issue with my shipment, and they responded quickly and with transparency. I can't imagine it's been easy entering the US market, but I hope that HONU becomes a standard name in the…
