Fantastic board

Fantastic board. It felt super stable underfoot from the first time I stood up on it. Plus, the red colour looks sweet in the water. Well done Team Honu!

Great boards

Highly recommend the Byron boards. Why- Light weight, easy to carry, stable, maneuverable...

My wife and I recently purchased 2 Byron boards. 9'8" for her and 10'6" for me. She is 5'3" 110 and I'm 5'10" 170. Our 1st inflatable paddle boards. Had hesitancy about the purchase as these are narrower than other options. Spent 4 days paddling standing up ~4-5 miles each day and are very happy with their performance. The instructions say don't use in winds higher than 10 knots (about 11 MPH) we used in winds up to ~15 MPH. Going perpendicular to the wind was an adventure, but never fell off.

I used my wife's and it was more responsive and faster while a little less stable, but nothing terrible. I would be confident in using the 9'8" board on a regular basis. Very glad we didn't buy longer or wider boards. The weight of these boards is amazing. My wife could easily carry her board from the parking lot several blocks down a decent slope to the water and back with no issue. Given the light weight a person can easily carry 2 boards, paddle and jacket.

We did sit on the boards and tried kayaking (using the SUP paddle). Even with the SUP paddle could go at a decent rate of speed. Kayak paddle option was not available when we purchased. Will add a kayak paddle for when the winds are higher to sit and make it easier going into or perpendicular to the wind. We just sat directly on the board no seat.

We are happy with our purchase and see years of fun ahead. Thanks Honu for a great product.

We bought the electric pump and it's okay. Takes 12-15 minutes to pump up a board and as it states 2 boards is the max it can inflate before a recharge.

Great board! The board is both very maneuverable and stable.

Great board! The board is both very maneuverable and stable. I haven't paddle boarded that much and I've had it out in very irregular and choppy waves on the south shore of Massachusetts and I can bop along playing around in the waves and not get thrown off it. And if you back-paddle you can flip the board around 180 degrees quickly and easily. I got this board because it sits lower in the water and I read online that that makes it better for catching some waves and surfing with it. So far I haven't been lucky enough to be at the beach when there are really good well spaced surfable waves yet but I've caught a few little ones here and there. Super fun! The board seems to tip a bit laterally... but then you hit like a stable point where it won't tip any further. And you learn to trust that the board will be there like a platform to brace against if you trust it. And that initial tipping seems to make it quicker to turn and I imagine will allow you to carve on a wave and steer it.

Excellent all around board

Excellent all around board. I do not consider it a beginner board. It’s light, nimble and tracks really well. I can even catch some speed. Customer service is great! The team will get back to you nearly immediately if you have any questions or concerns. I hope this board lasts me for a while, but I will definitely be looking at this company if I requiring another board..

Great Paddleboard

The Byron 10'6" is lightweight, durable, & tracks well with the single fin. It's also more connected to the water than a 6" "pool toy" paddleboard. The resilient construction & portability make it the perfect companion for more adventurous explorations without having to constantly second guess the durability as would happen with cheaper boards.

Incredibly versatile, perfect for petite AND taller paddlers!

As a petite woman (5'1") learning to paddleboard in the ocean, this board has been an absolute success! It is lightweight enough for me to carry easily, yet incredibly stable and balanced once I'm on the water.I bought it back in 2024 and have been out paddling in the Pacific Ocean as often as the waves and wind permit.
My partner, who is 5'11", has the exact same board and loves it just as much. It handles his height and weight just as smoothly as it handles mine. Highly recommend for both petite and taller humans!
And the customer service was just a good, fast response and great prices.

Brilliant board!

The Byron has been a great board! This was my first paddle board and I love the stability but consistent tracking in the water. Plenty of straps for storage out and about and the carry bag is brilliant for storing not only the board but paddle and PFD! Everything is solid construction and i trust will be fun for years to come!

Midwest Lake Paddling

I recently bought the Honu Byron paddleboard after doing a lot of research. I wasn't initially looking to buy an inflatable, but I am very happy with my choice. I use it mostly in the Midwest on a large lake. The weather hasn't fully cooperated so I have been paddling in windy and higher wave conditions most of the time. The board has been more stable and easier to maneuver than I expected. Very happy with the Honu Byron!

The Byron 10'6 is the board people fall in love with; It feels light in the hand, rigid underfoot, and instantly stable on the water. Refined again, the Byron now features a more versatile cargo system with more space, more tie-down options, and a removable bungee setup you can adapt to the day.

At 4.7" thick, the Byron keeps you closer to the water than a standard 6" inflatable, so it feels more connected and responsive when the surface gets textured. It’s built with our latest X‑Woven & Fused drop-stitch construction and heat-welded rails, now finished with X‑Woven ClearSkin, a transparent outer layer that lets you see the woven nylon reinforcement inside.

Underfoot, the deck gets our newly designed EVA tracking with a thumbprint traction pattern engineered for wet grip, all-day comfort, and better water drainage. And for the walk-in, we redesigned the bag from the ground up: more storage, more pockets for easy organisation, and a stowable waist belt so you can tuck it away when its not needed.

A true all-rounder, built to handle the widest range of conditions, without feeling like a compromise.

VERSATILE OUTLINE

Stability without compromise.
Shaped like a classic longboard surfboard, the Byron is built to feel confidence-inspiring across the widest range of conditions, from calm water cruising to playful small-wave sessions. The 32" width carries forward without tapering away too early, giving you a stable, planted platform that feels predictable when the water gets bumpy. A squared-off tail adds even more stability and makes step-back turns feel approachable, so you can progress your technique without the board feeling twitchy or demanding.

LIGHT & RIGID

Strength without the weight.
The Byron hits the rare intersection of being genuinely lightweight, yet impressively rigid and responsive on the water, and that pairing is a big reason it’s loved worldwide. At just 7.6 kg (16.7 lbs), it’s easy to carry, pack, and move around on the beach, but once you’re paddling it feels crisp underfoot, not soft or springy. Every stroke feels more efficient, every weight shift more direct, and the board stays composed when conditions change.

A TRUE ALL-ROUNDER

Built to be your go-to SUP.
If you can only have one paddleboard in your garage, the Byron is the one to choose. It’s stable enough for first-timers, refined enough for experienced paddlers, and versatile enough to handle everything from fitness paddles to family missions and the occasional wave. Off the water, it’s just as practical: easy to transport, quick to pack down, and simple to store, without giving up the performance feel that makes you want to paddle more often.

X-Woven & Fused

LIGHTER. STIFFER. NO COMPROMISE

The drop-stitch fabric in every Honu board is made to order...Exclusively for us. It's the most advanced (and most expensive) drop-stitch material available, and it's the foundation of why Honu boards are independently verified as the lightest and stiffest in their class.

Multiple layers of woven drop-stitch are fused during manufacturing, with polyester threads crisscrossed through the vinyl like carbon fibre. The result is a board that's exceptionally light, remarkably stiff, and delivers a ride closer to a hardboard than any inflatable you've paddled.

How Ordering Works
The Torquay is built in small batches. The first drop has just a handful of boards in each size. That’s intentional. Every board is produced under the watchful eye of John who has been making boards for more than fifty years. There are no shortcuts, and there’s no warehouse full of stock sitting on a shelf waiting.

Where we can ship
Due to carrier restrictions and cost on oversized composite boards, we can currently only deliver to the following states:
West Coast — California, Oregon, Washington
Northeast — Maine, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts
Southeast — Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina
South — Arizona, Texas
