OUR STORY
Honu was born among the curling waves of Bondi Beach, Australia, in 2001. Re-launched in 2019 under new ownership with a new range of products, the Honu team embraces Bondi's bohemian roots.
The spirit of Honu lies in our connection to the water, whether that be the beach, ocean, lakes or rivers. They, like us, are all connected. The Honu team is passionate about designing products that combine high-tech materials and construction with a unique, timeless style that stands out and inspires people to fall in love with the ocean and outdoors.
Relying on Mark's skills as an industrial engineer and a love of the ocean, every product is designed from the ground up, carefully considering every detail, component and construction method.
Honu strives to meet the challenge of fulfilling customers' needs with thoughtfully designed high-performance products with world-class customer service that sets an industry standard. All the while protecting our environment as best we can. This includes an annual pledge to environmental groups, offsetting our last-mile delivery emissions and designing greener packaging for all our products.
Design

We strive to deliver products that are engineered for performance, are beautifully designed, and minimise their environmental impact. Our core philosophy is that if we can make it better, we do! Honu products are designed to perform as well as possible for their intended use.
Sounds obvious, but this is an often overlooked feature in favour of price, profit or appeal. Not at Honu. In every category, we aim to have the Lightest, Strongest and best product on the market.
Technology
X-Woven Drop-stitch
Layers of drop-stitch are fused during the manufacturing process, where the polyester threads are woven, similar to carbon fibre, making it light & stiff.
Heat Welded Rails
A 20mm PVC strip is heat & pressure welded over the inner rail joint to form a permanent mechanical bond, extending the boards life.
3K Carbon Stringers
A 3K carbon strip is bonded to the board under a layer of PVC top and bottom to improve the rigidity and ultimate performace on the water.
Hex Shaft Paddle Joint
An anti-twist hex-shapred paddle joint with a precise fit and machined pin removes the need for a clamp on the lower paddle sections.
