I brought my 8’8” Bondi to France from California. Easy to travel with, VERY well made, surfed well in small waves. Great value at a great price!!
The Bondi 9’5” is an exceptional ISUP choice for paddlers seeking a versatile and high-performance board that balances stability with responsive turning capabilities. This board excels in various wave conditions and is rapidly boosting my wave count getting me the experience I need actually catching waves. A few standout features of the Bondi 9’5” include its adequate tail rocker, fully functional 2+1 fin setup, plus rail leading back to the tail. These combine to give surprising grip on the wave face and pretty inspiring bottom turns.
The narrower profile and overall stiffness make paddling out intuitive and efficient, a significant advantage for beginners and those looking to maximize their wave count.
Last but not least has been Honu’s outstanding customer service. I was given detailed guidance before purchase, helping me to choose the perfect model based on my preferences and experience level. Their follow-up after the purchase to ensure satisfaction when I lost a fin has set a new standard for customer care in the industry.
Whether you’re new to surfing, transitioning from other board sports, or just trying to catch waves without the hassle, the Bondi 9’5” offers a board that performs well in a portable easy-to-store ISUP package.
The Bondi 8'8 far exceeded my expectations. This board does it all, it's easy to catch small waves and get up on the nose. Take the centre fin out and it's party time! It loosens right up with sharp snappy turns and is still stable. This is a huge leap forward in iSUP design and technology and I believe it's the best on the market right now.

Firstly I want to emphasise the great service that comes with being a customer at HONU. The personal touch and communication makes the overall online shopping experience more human and makes one just feel good.
Being a fan of high quality material of all sorts, I am very pleased by the quality of the full package ! Board, leash, fins, paddle (bought separately)and bags are of very high quality and lots of attention to detail
Tried the 9,5 on flat water so far and was amazed by the feel, stiffness and responsiveness of the board. Will be trying it in waves soon and looking forward to learn sup surfing with this board after 8 years of recreational paddle boarding on conventional good quality inflatable boards.
Thank you Mark ; )
The all new Honu Bondi delivers all the stoke of surfboard and all the convenience of an inflatable. It's an awesome board for people wanting to catch waves.
I'm really loving this board. I'm super happy with the rigidity of the board. This is my first inflatable SUP and I really wanted something that felt like a hard board (which is what I'm used to) and the Bondi does the job well. It's super evident how much care and pride has gone into this board, from the design elements to the high quality construction. I couldn't be more stoked!
After doing some research on the best inflatable SUP for surfing, the Bondi ticked all the boxes for quality, lightness and rigidity. Mark was very helpful in my early days with the board and the family will be able to have a Summer of fun.
I’m a petite 5’1” female weighing <110. I wanted a board that’s light weight and maneuvers well. My first board was huge and although it also worked, I prefer my Bondi. My husband is of average size and he found it scary and harder to balance on than the 11”6’ board we both got initially. We are still fairly new to SUPing having just started in July. We’ve mainly used our SUP in calm reservoirs but also in some larger lakes and bays with some small waves. I’m bringing my board with me to Hawaii next month to try SUP surfing! So, this board can work as a versatile all around board for a petite person who wants the option to level up. It may not be good as the first board for an average size male beginner.
Great materials and construction. Good stability even for 185lbs in small surf.
I’m fortunate that I stumbled upon Honu, and their friendly and competent leader, Mark.
The Bondi 9’3 is exactly what I hoped it would be!
I thought the soft and convenient carry strap might be in the way, but it helps find the centerline when I jump to surf stance without having to look down. And it’s a place to push my front foot against. The tail has a comfortable step deck that provides great traction.
The paddle is a work of art! Bamboo blade fused to carbon 3 piece. Most ergonomic handle I’ve held! Ultra light.
I’m 145# and wanted to go as small as possible so I asked Mark about the 8’6.
He said “Nah mate. That for kids. You want the 9’3”. He was right!
This board is FUN FUN FUN
When setting out to design the new Bondi surfing SUP, the goal was to produce a no-compromise board that would perform as close as possible to a fibreglass equivalent. More than 18 months in development, the new Bondi is for the surfing purist, with every last detail, down to board-specific finboxes designed to produce a board capable of handling surf of any size with confidence.
Available in two sizes, 8'8 and 9'5 and just 4" thick, constructed with our X-woven material with Honu's exclusive Welded Carbon Rails. Both sizes feature an aggressive outline and rocker that is further enhanced by a hard rail edge that finishes just in front of the Volan keel fins. All working together to make steep take-offs and powerful bottom turns an easy undertaking.
SUP surfers will appreciate the time spent in developing the Futures-compatible fin system that includes performance fiberglass fins. The twin+1 setup is designed to provide the surfer with flexibility to tune the ride. Start with all three fins for the most stability, but removing the centre fin, leaving in the twin keels provides a fast and loose ride more advanced paddlers will love.

The new Bondi is a real ripper! We heard this board was coming about a year ago, from the Honu designer Mark Travers. So we’ve been eagerly waiting! He said it was going to be a new board to take inflatable SUP surfing to the next level. And now having used the Bondi, lets just say this board didn’t disappoint!
Inflatable SUP Surf Mastery
Having recently put the Bondi iSUP Surf board by HONU through a test drive, I’m excited to share my thoughts. This board stands out not just because it’s an inflatable board designed specifically for surfing – obviously offering the benefits of portability – but because it is evident that HONU CEO and designer Mark Travers is an engineer at heart, as the board features several premium exclusive innovations, particularly in the rails and fin department, which are real differentiators in the inflatable SUP surf segment.
