Byron Story

What makes Byron Bay stand-out is its counter-culture spirit, surf culture and peaceful environment. At certain times of year, it's not uncommon to see dolphins cresting over the surf on the horizon. Truly unforgettable – just like the Byron All-Rounder. Its versatility and bohemian spirit will release you from any sense of obligation. You’ll even manage to look graceful while doing your downward dog at the 6am paddleboard yoga class or paddling 20kgs of cargo to your campsite.

The Byron 10'6 has become loved worldwide for its lightweight, rigid feel and confidence-inspiring stability on the water. Refined again for 2024, the Byron now comes with an upgraded backpack with internal organized storage pockets for fins, leashes, and small items like keys. It also has an ultra-soft padded waist belt for longer walks into secret paddling spots and a split fin-box system that allows the board to roll up even better than before. The Byron is the go-to paddleboard designed to be capable in the widest range of conditions.

This 4.7" thick inflatable SUP keeps you connected to the water and better able to respond to the swirls and ripples than a standard 6" board and is constructed with our industry-leading X-Woven & Fused drop-stitch material and triple-bonded rails.

New for 2024, the Byron now features a heat-welded inner seam that produces a more reliable mechanical bond/seal. This construction technology has been taken from the award-winning Sorrento and adapted to the all-rounder platform.

Whether heading out for a flatwater cruise with your dog or starting your day with SUP yoga and a relaxing paddle, the Byron has you covered. Feeling excited about catching some local waves?... You got it, take the Byron.

4 YEAR TOTAL CARE WARRANTY

We will repair or replace your board, new-for-old, if there are any manufacturing issues within the first four years, including loose seams, faulty valves, or traction pad delamination.

X-WOVEN & FUSED DROP STITCH

Multiple layers of woven drop stitch are fused during the manufacturing process, where the polyester threads running through the vinyl are crisscrossed, similar to carbon fibre, making it light & stiff.

UNIVERSAL FIN SYSTEM

A universal fin system allows the paddler to try different fins to fine-tune the board's performance across various conditions. It also allows for quick replacement should the need arise.

TEXTURED DIAMOND TRACTION

Combining the tactile feel of a diamond grove with the grip of an alligator pattern provides the paddler with a confidence-inspiring platform that feels soft yet solid underfoot.

The Honu Byron exceeded expectations as an all round iSUP. Honu have definitely thought about their design of this board and how it is going to perform for the everyday paddler. The 4.7″ design gives you added stability, whilst the front and rear handles are a welcome addition.

Pretty, lightweight, stable

I’ve been having a great time taking my new Byron around to different Colorado lakes. My only regret is not buying it earlier in the season! Easy to set up, transport, and rides like a dream.

I absolutely love this board! I have completely enjoyed it in both lakes and rivers. It is quick, stable and playful. Best deck pad I have seen and looks great! I'm intermediate but continue to play and see what the boards are capable of and its been the the first paddleboard I have used that has had a raised kick pad on the back so I can try some different moves to figure out the capability of the board, especially on the river. It's really stable even if I'm in a surfing stance. It doesn't have a ton of tie down options but I don't really see a big need for it for what you would really use this board for. I'm 190 lbs 6'1" and typically carry a dry bag with ice and beer (the Essentials for a great day on the water) and it tracks well and I don't feel it's overloaded even rougher rapids on the river. The only complaint I have is the board name is Byron. My business competitions name is Byron.

Honu Byron 10'6

I absolutely love my Honu Byron paddle board. I've use quite a few over the years, and have previously owned a cheaper (inferior quality) board and cannot express enough how much better it is having a lighter and narrower profile board. Mark was super helpful and knowledgeable and really helped me with my questions. I can't rate or recommend Honu Byron Paddle Board more highly. Congrats Honu on a beautifully designed paddle board!

Just love it

Owned my board for several months now and just love it. Stylish, light weight and a great length for me. Really is stable on the water and honestly you wouldn't guess it is a inflatable board. Well worth the investment.

I have a Byron Genesis from 2020. I paddleboard in spring, summer, fall, and winter when conditions allow in the Pacific Northwest. The board is very stable and I have never fallen off even with a toddler bopping around on the front or floating down the river. I have used it on the ocean, on lakes, and in rivers. I rarely sit and usually stand (especially in winter when fully dressed!) and have always felt stable. I selected the Byron based on its weight. I needed something I could hike into lakes or carry to the river on my own. Being more manageable meant more paddle boarding! I only used the manual pump once and got a shark pump - I definitely recommend going the electric pump route!
