I couldnt help myself and I went top-shelf on the paddle packaged with my new Byron SUP and OH BABY! what a nice paddle. Firstly, when it turned up I wasnt expecting the paddle bag, that was an over-delivered discovery detail.
Pulling it out of the bag it was plainly obvious that this paddle was pure class. One thing the immediately jumped out at me is the top handle is one-piece moulded to the shaft and not two pieces bonded together.
The carbon quality is exquisite and the finishing detail top notch. With a raw carbon finish there's nowhere to hide imperfections and they've done a really nice job with this.
I like the notch at the back of the shaft too which prevents it from twisting and the clamps that are used are quality.
Blade is nice and it paddles very well with a very solid feel in the hand.
I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this, nothing I would change at all.
Final thoughts are have you seen the prices of top-end carbon paddles that are on the market? They are more than double this and some are not constructed in the same way as this is.
If you pick one of these up its money well spent in my book. Quality and value all the way. Bravo!
P.S. My glowing review makes me a little sick to be honest because it sounds like I'm a complete fanboi but it is that good and the value is that good and well, I probably have quickly become one.
