From Melbourne to Toronto
I have taken this board to the ocean and to lakes in Victoria, Australia, and Ontario, Canada.
Lakes can turn on you in minutes. This has happened a few times, and this board kept me upright and steady; the chop was no match.
Recently, while paddling on Lake Ontario, the wind picked up and another paddle boarder got knocked off his board. I am a 5’2 woman with little upper body strength, and this board kept me steady enough to help the flipped boarder back onto his board. I paddled calmly through the chop and back to shore like it was no big deal.
I also had a scary encounter while paddling on Lysterfield Lake, Victoria. The wind picked up in seconds and I found myself in some scary chop. Though I had to drop to my knees, the board kept me afloat and steady. My carbon paddle proved to be well built and did not let me down. Though I was not able to make it back to shore, I paddled hard and docked into some reeds where two lovely young Aussies helped me out of the water and back to the parking lot. Though my arms were exhausted from paddling furiously against the spinning winds, the board and paddle proved to have superior build quality and excellent stability.
This board is rigged, tracks like a dream, turns well, is super stable and light to carry. Even with a full dry sack under its bungees, I can get it in and out of water easily.
Customer service is also worth mentioning. As a scrupulous consumer, Honu customer service superseded all my expectations.
